TejMar Builders provides design-and-build services for custom homes across the Triad region of North Carolina, including Guilford, Forsyth, Alamance and Rockingham counties. Our founders, Karen and Gustavo, grew up in the Triad and it’s where they chose to raise their family.
When you contract with TejMar Builders to build a custom home, we’ll work closely with you and your mortgage lender, real estate agent, designers, and others involved in the process. We apply our passion and knowledge to help you create your dream home.
Karen Tejeda is the founder of TejMar Builders, a licensed general contractor, and the driving force behind the company’s vision and growth. She leads the planning and client-facing side of the business, overseeing budgets, permitting, development, and the many moving parts that bring a home from concept to completion. Karen works closely with homeowners and industry professionals throughout the process, helping turn ideas into homes that are both beautiful and well built.
Her approach combines organization, communication, and design awareness, making the building experience feel more personal, clear, and collaborative. In addition to leading TejMar Builders, Karen is an active member of the Greensboro Builders Association and currently serves as 2nd Vice President, reflecting her leadership within the local building community and her commitment to the future of the industry.
Gustavo Martinez is a licensed general contractor and leads the construction side of TejMar Builders’ day-to-day operations. With a strong background of 20-years experience in residential framing, roofing, and new construction, he brings deep field knowledge and a practical understanding of how quality homes come together from the ground up.
As the lead on-site, Gustavo works closely with subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners to keep each project moving with precision, accountability, and high standards. He is known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things the right way. Together, Karen and Gustavo bring both structure and vision to every home TejMar builds, combining thoughtful planning, craftsmanship, and a hands-on approach that clients can trust.
Rebecca Lenz is recognized by the National Kitchen & Bath Association as an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBD). As the daughter of a custom home builder, she grew up immersed in the building industry and brings a lifetime of experience to her work. Rebecca combines strong construction knowledge with a creative design eye to guide clients toward selections that fit their budget while creating beautiful, functional spaces.
Known for her attention to detail and collaborative approach, Rebecca works closely with clients to bring their vision to life. She served on the board of the Greensboro Builders Association for many years and was Associate Vice President of the organization. Rebecca stays current with industry trends through national conferences and training and has received the PHBA Parade of Homes People’s Choice Award and the 2018 GBA President’s Award.
The name of our company is based on the last names of our founders, Karen Tejeda and Gustavo Martinez.
This name reflects our philosophy of treating every customer's home the way we would our own. And it signifies our core values of collaboration and teamwork — with each other, our contractors, and most importantly, with our customers.
